Another Ho! Ho! Ho! New Trading Card!

Christmas stories are always in season!  Here’s a new trading card for The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 22, is “A Very Special Christmas Present”, the family favorite Christmas romance short story!

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about “A Very Special Christmas Present”:

Deidre’s young “niece” is determined to give her Auntie Dee the best Christmas present ever:

a husband!

Amazon.com and Smashwords.com

Deidre's only brother was killed in the Napoleonic Wars, so romance is the furthest thing from her mind. However her young "niece"--Cupid's curly-haired accomplice--is determined to give Auntie Dee the best Christmas present ever.

Here are some fabulous reviews:

* FIVE STARS! Fans of the stories set in early nineteenth century England will find this a comfortably familiar world. The setting is completely perfect, from the wonderful home and dedication to needlework, to the holiday plans, and even the focus on marriage. You will enjoy Knight’s clever twist with descriptions--her snow-capped fir trees “huddle” from the cold, and main character Deidre expresses frustration by ‘savagely’ embroidering. Throughout, the phrasing is subtle but delightful. It’s hard to say more without spoiling this one. Full of Christmas charm, Susanne Marie Knight’s A Very Special Christmas Present, would make a very nice present for some lucky romance fan on your shopping list...I will certainly re-read.--Long & Short Reviews.

* This is a most refreshing story. Sometimes we judge too quickly before learning the real truth.--Romance At Heart.

* I didn't want this story to end! More, more, more!--Reader Comment

* This is the best Regency short story I've read.-- Reader Comment

I hope you enjoy Deidre’s story, and also this digital card, “A Very Special Christmas Present”, in my Trading Card series.

Ho! Ho! Ho! A New Trading Card

It’s getting closer to the big day. Here’s a new trading card for The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 34, is THE YULETIDE YORKSHIRE, the fifth in a series of six for the Minx Tobin Murder Mystery Series. Who is Minx Tobin? She’s a fitness instructor who has a knack for solving puzzles--puzzles concerning dead bodies. For fun, romance, and... unexpected corpses, follow her adventures in this murder mystery six book series!

THE BLOODSTAINED BISTRO--Case 1

THE ILL-GOTTEN INSURANCE--Case 2

THE DUPLICITOUS DIVORCE--Case 3

THE VIRTUAL VALENTINE--Case 4

THE YULETIDE YORKSHIRE--Case 5

THE EMBEZZLED ENVELOPE--Case 6

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about THE YULETIDE YORKSHIRE:

Minx finds something unexpected under the Christmas tree.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t something left by Santa.

Amazon.com and Smashwords.com

HO, HO, HO... OH!

Home for the holidays, Minx Tobin introduces her parents to her homicide lieutenant, Gabe Harris. Unfortunately for her, her ex-fiancĂ© Jared drops in on them, creating friction. But Jared soon needs Minx’s help in the sleuthing department because a gruesome “present” is found under the tree. Once again, Minx is hot on the trail of a desperate killer.

All Gabe wants to do is propose to the woman he loves. Instead, he has to deal with a cast of East Coast characters, including an unexpected murder. Why do dead bodies always seem follow Minx Tobin??

Here are some fabulous reviews:

4 1/2 STARS! Once more Minx finds herself in the middle of the action, but this time she has the help of an experienced police officer to wade through the clues. Add to the mix an intelligent Yorkshire terrier who knows exactly where all the bodies are buried, and you have a team that cannot be beat. With lots of humor to keep things lively, Ms. Knight has the reader guessing until the she reveals the killer’s identity.--Sensual Reads

4 STARS! "This is Minx’s fifth case, but it’s the first time I’ve read this author’s work. Ms. Knight does a nice job of creating a cozy mystery that's a bit unusual. Who expects your next door neighbor to be shot to death? She gives you enough suspects, all with motive, so it’s not obvious right away who the culprit is. The author writes a story that flows well and includes some jealousy because the next door neighbor’s son was once engaged to Minx and Gabe isn’t sure the attraction is completely over. As Gabe works with Minx to solve this murder, the local cop is unhappy because they are messing in his case and he’s acting a bit funny towards Minx, too. Poor Gabe… The author writes a good drama/trauma story with almost everyone being a bit guilty for some reason. She also gets you into the romance between Minx and Gabe and you find yourself hoping neither one of them will be bullheaded enough to ruin their budding romance. Ms. Knight kept my attention and kept me reading to see just how she would end the story. I was not disappointed. If you like a good cozy mystery, get a cup of tea and find a comfortable chair. This one will fill the bill for you. Why not see if you can identify the murderer before Minx? I think you’ll be surprised by the way it turns out.--Long and Short Reviews

I love Minx Tobin! My favorite Who-Done-It series!--S.C. Reviews

This is a great mystery!--C.B. Reviews

I hope you enjoy Minx and Gabe’s adventures, and also this digital card, THE YULETIDE YORKSHIRE, in my Trading Card series.

 Here are some fabulous reviews:

4 ½ STARS! Have Christmas Card... Will Travel by Susanne Marie Knight is a delightful time-travel romance that carries a lonely woman back to the regency era to find love. A creative story based on the Twelve Days of Christmas song, I found myself looking forward to seeing how each stanza of the song would be depicted. The characters in the story are fully developed and have very strong personalities. This is a sweet romance in which the settings come to life through the descriptions of the author. This is a warm-hearted story for the Christmas Season that will leave the reader happy and feeling good in the end. Amazon.com and Smashwords.com.

KISSES CAN BE DEADLY

The serial killer stalking Los Angeles will soon be served his just deserts. But that doesn’t mean Minx Tobin is out of danger. First, there’s a crank caller. Then her tire is slashed. Quite possibly, her throat is next. But if the throat-slashing murderer is out of the picture, then who has it in for Minx?

Gabe Harris works two full-time jobs. First is solving murders as homicide lieutenant for LAPD. Second is trying to keep his new girlfriend, Minx, out of danger. But this time, she isn’t to blame for her predicament. Gabe’s job is proving hazardous to her health.

Here are some fabulous reviews:

4.5 Stars! In this delightful story filled with suspense and lots of humor, Ms. Knight gives the reader a murder mystery that will satisfy any taste. Minx and Gabe’s developing love is added to the mix seamlessly. I cannot wait to see what will happen to Minx and Gabe next.--Sensual Reads

April Showers Bring... Alien Flowers For This Romance Trading Card!

Some flowers have an agenda! Check out this a new card from The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 10, is ALIEN HEAT, the popular science fiction dystopian romance.

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about ALIEN HEAT:

What happens when an “uncivilized” villager matches wits with a handsome warrior... AND strange, heat-producing plants intent on turning Earth into another Venus?

 Amazon.com and Smashwords.com.

Here are some fabulous reviews for ALIEN HEAT:

5 Stars!--Goodreads

4 1/2 STARS! There are plots of revenge, attempted murder and hatred intertwined in ALIEN HEAT. There is also the blossoming of love between Lucas and Glyneth, and a few others as well. The interaction between the main characters, Lucas, Glyneth, Hawke, Will, and Sylvie was something to see. Will was a riot and the play between the three men was interesting... If you haven't read anything by Ms. Knight, you don't know what you are missing.--A Romance Review

I found Susanne Marie Knight’s ALIEN HEAT to be very imaginative. Knight’s plot is like no other I’ve read, which is really saying a lot considering that I deem reading the ultimate pastime. The villainous aliens in ALIEN HEAT come in an unexpected form, and the vastness of the futuristic detail was mind-boggling. ALIEN HEAT was very entertaining.--The Road To Romance

4 Stars! Susanne Marie Knight has an interesting take on the future of the world with aliens from Venus thrown in to heat it up. I really loved the way she pulled modern day facts into the story to put a realistic tint to it. Her characters grab you and pull you through the story not letting go until the last page. Once again Ms. Knight hits the jackpot with a compelling story and life-like characters. So much happens in ALIEN HEAT that I only touched on some of its aspects. What an incredible journey it is. ALIEN HEAT is not to be missed, in this reviewer’s humble opinion. Romance Junkies

Susanne Marie Knight has woven a story of a troubled Earth, invasion by an alien species, and the mysteries of some ancient lore to produce a captivating tale of romance and danger in a post-apocalyptic world. The devastating impact of a comet has left the word divided, and its people scattered. Small pockets of civilization remain in differing levels of civilization, and through them, the diversification of the populations survive. ALIEN HEAT is just that...it is alien, and it is heated. It takes you from the bride markets of Columont, to the vast stretches of desert that is slowly devouring the newly recovering earth. Treachery and death stalk the lovers, and the destruction of civilization, and even the world as they know it now hands in the balance. The premise in Susanne Marie Knight's story is no different than told in many a sci-fi thriller, but in the telling, we see the difference. ALIEN HEAT focuses on the powers of magic, love, and the intentions of honorable men and women to not only save their society, but the very world on which they live. After a bit of a slow start, the reader gets quickly wrapped up in the intrigue of the court, the plans on both sides of the battle, and can feel the thrill of the impending conclusion. The ultimate question is answered in the long run...[and] the reader is a winner.--Romance At Heart

I was totally intrigued by this book. When we think of aliens the first thought that pops into our heads is little green men that walk on two legs with big, bulging eyes. Susanne Knight shows in this book that our alien friends could be in the form of something innocent looking like flowers. Absolutely brilliant!--Paula Beaty Reviews

ALIEN HEAT is a remarkable example of science fiction romance. Ms. Knight has set her novel in Earth’s future, used much of its history and technology, but given it a special twist and then stayed within the rules of her world. Glyneth and Lucas are wonderfully dimensional characters, each bound to their own path, each aware of who and where they stand in the world. I especially loved the reason the women were infertile. It was so unexpected and different. Don’t miss.--In The Library Reviews

This is a good story with several plot lines that keep things moving. Good humor, fun characters, and playful dialogue. This would make a good science fiction film plot, particularly with the plants as enemies, able to release carbon dioxide gas in big enough quantities to kill a person or use their roots to cause earthquakes. The parts in the story where the plants conspired, “speaking” with each other were particularly well done. This was a good book, a fun read, and well worth looking for. Good job, Ms. Knight.--SFR Reviews

Once again Susanne Knight produces as interesting and thoroughly entertaining paranormal romance, one that fans of science fiction should enjoy, also. I appreciated that though there is plenty of action and evil intentions in this story, the violence is minimal. I also was impressed at the way the human villain reacted to his punishment. I felt the way the invaders were dealt with was justifiable. The story kept up its momentum to the very end, which was quite satisfying.--Paranormal Romance Reviews

Found on the Web: Science Fiction Romance's article with Wings Press editor Leslie Hodges. Here's what Ms. Hodges says about ALIEN HEAT: I am always looking for good, well-crafted stories, no matter what the genre. Here in my department, we love cross-genre tales, and all levels of romantic involvement. More and more authors are crossing genres and the result has been some wonderfully well-crafted stories that appeal to fans of both genres.  A good example of this would be ALIEN HEAT by Susanne Marie Knight which is a Futuristic/SF book. It has appeal to both audiences because of the way Susanne has woven her story using a mix of both genres [science fiction and romance].

Susanne Marie Knight has woven a story of a troubled Earth, invasion by an alien species, and the mysteries of some ancient lore to produce a captivating tale of romance and danger in a post-apocalyptic world. The reader gets quickly wrapped up in the intrigue of the court, the plan on both sides of the battle, and can feel the thrill of the impending conclusion. The reader is a winner. Look for ALIEN HEAT today.--Romance at Heart (Heartstrings)

I am not usually a futuristic romance reader, but I must admit to enjoying ALIEN HEAT. Susanne Marie Knight took a unique idea and created a fascinating novel. I loved her plant from Venus. I also enjoyed the twists Ms. Knight added to the storyline. ALIEN HEAT has several surprises that are revealed as the story unfolds.--Writers Unlimited

ALIEN HEAT is one of the most unusual after-the-world’s end novels I have ever read. The comet hitting Venus, and the Venusian fragments hitting Earth is terrific. The interplay between the characters is good and Gwyneth being a mutant is an excellent ingredient. I happily recommend ALIEN HEAT.--The Romance Studio

This book was a mix of romance and sci-fi. The author has many surprises in store for the reader. The book has many twists and turns involving the main characters. The author has woven an intricate tale of the futuristic Earth and the people who populate it.--Love Romances

ALIEN HEAT is well-written. Glyneth and Lucas are interesting characters with hidden depths and emotions. Susanne Marie Knight writes an interesting tale. Grab a copy of ALIEN HEAT.--Romance Reviews Today

Award-Winning Science Fiction Finalist For This Romance Trading Card!

Check out this a new card from The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 54, is “The Convert”, the award-winning science fiction short story.

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about “The Convert”:

When one of his congregation wants to marry an alien who is more flora than fauna,

what's a priest to do??

Amazon.com and Smashwords

“The Convert” also was voted one of the top seven stories of LEAPS OF FAITH. Here are some wonderful reviews:

The Convert takes an entirely different angle and addresses a person's faith versus human prejudice and the role it might play if there is every close contact with races who differ from us in very obvious ways. Susanne Marie Knight [short story] is an interesting tale about an indigenous alien who wishes to marry a human colonist to his planet. In this tale a priest must decide if he has the right under God to marry this alien to a human. He goes through a lot of psychological struggle, but when he hears the story from the alien, he begins to look at the situation with his heart. Also included in this story is how abusive we can be, simply because we don't understand, or do not seem to have the capacity to understand things that do not fit into our little spectrum of understanding. A wonderful story that is beautifully told.--Christian Science Review.

FIVE STARS! Quantum physicists, amazed by the symmetry of the universe, have said that the more they delve into the quantum mechanics, the more convinced they become of an existence of a higher power. Karina and Robert Fabian merge science and faith in an anthology of fifteen Christian science fiction stories that ignites our imaginations... In Susanne Marie Knight's 'The Convert,' Father Wren has an equally awesome decision to make. He's the only priest on the Ophiuchi 4 colony and must decide the marital fate of Chloe and Ping. She's a deaf human; he's a telepathic tree.--Scribes World Reviews

Highly Recommended! ... the stories engrossed me from the beginning. Though SF/religious in nature (as stated by the publisher), each story managed to be more than that. They cover the gamut of human experience--doubt, faith, adventure, and conflict. I found the juxtaposition of futuristic story elements and inspirational elements compelling. Each aspect blends seamlessly into a unique collection of stories. Regardless of your faith or reading preferences, don't miss this collection of stories from FrancisIsidore Electronic Press, including such authors as Leslie Brown, Peter Bell, Michael S. Poteet, Susanne Marie Knight, Greg Beatty, and many others. It poses intelligent questions and offers honest answers. This is a book designed to make you think, and it achieves its goal.--Dog-eared Webzine

Leaps of Faith contains fourteen stories by twelve authors. The stories delve into different aspects of space exploration, time travel, hard science, evangelism in space, robot rights, and contact with extraterrestrial lifeforms. Though much of the work deals with Christian (and often Catholic) concepts, belief and general faith also drive many of the stories. Some of the stories are pure adventure. Others are deep, philosophical works that struggle with science and belief. And, still others are humorous looks at our human selves. "The Convert" by Susanne Marie Knight and examines how far Christianity can be extended to alien species.--Myshelf.

Leaps of Faith will undoubtedly go down as one of the best collections of Christian science fiction in this new century. Katrina and Robert Fabian have pooled together some incredible talent... This book will certain entertain and challenge the reader. If you enjoy short stories, this is for you.--Yellow30 Sci Fi

The book was a real delight to read, and the authors wrote their stories well. It was easy to become immersed in each tale as they followed one common theme. I give LEAPS OF FAITH two thumbs up!--Midwest Book Review

This is a collection of stories from authors who explore many different aspects of science and faith, and what that all means when science makes another discovery, or when we reach out to alien races... I found the collection over-all thought provoking and a good read. --Author's Choice Book Reviews

I highly recommend this book. It not only entertains, it makes you think.--MyShelf.com

I hope you enjoy this unusual short story, and also the digital card, “The Convert”, in my Trading Card series.

Time-Travel Back 2,000 Year For This Romance Trading Card!

Want to meet the commander for an ancient Roman legion? Check out this a new card from The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 63, is A SESTERCE FOR HER THOUGHTS, the popular science fiction romance.

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about A SESTERCE FOR HER THOUGHTS:

An ancient coin transports Olivia two thousand years back in time to the Roman invasion of Britannia and into the arms of a hunky legion commander!

 Available on Amazon.com and Smashwords.com.

The print copy is also available on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/dp/1980841799

Here are some fabulous reviews for A SESTERCE FOR HER THOUGHTS:

* 5 Sesterces... and 5 Stars! I confess I’m new to the genre of Ancient Roman romance and all that, and I have to say now, after reading A SESTERCE FOR HER THOUGHTS, I’m hooked!! Olivia, our fish-out-of-water from the twenty-first century, has to quickly adjust to the brutal world of Imperial Rome. Fortunately she has help, otherwise it’s for certain she would’ve been in more danger than just the initial beating at the beginning of her adventure. Her concern for the Emperor Claudius is touching, and as for Quintus, well, he is a warrior with macho integrity. As a couple, they have a huge divide in cultures and expectations to overcome. Thankfully, they concentrate on the things they have in common, instead of the differences. And then, of course, comes Olivia’s dilemma... For a peek into a creative imagining of what may have happened two thousand years ago--an alternate reality, do yourself a favor and read A SESTERCE FOR HER THOUGHTS.--Just Imagine Fanzine

* 5 Stars! Quite a different read: part creative and part historical. Ms. Knight shows just how very different life was two thousand years ago, and yet people still had the same needs driving them. I enjoyed how she sprinkled Latin into the conversations to show how Olivia had to slowly translate and interpret Roman conversations. Frankly, I enjoyed everything: we discover each piece of the puzzle, to then put it all together to learn the surprise twist... or twists at the end. Excellent!--Norwood Reviews

* 5 Stars! Delightful travel to Ancient Rome! It's amazing how Mrs. Knight builds this riveting story and shows us glimpses of Ancient Rome history. It's a page-turning romance with an unexpected and surprising end (no spoilers!) I highly recommend it!--S. A. Santos Review

* 5 Stars! An Outstanding Time Travel Adventure! The charming and delightful novel allows the reader to time travel back to the Roman Empire... You will be captivated by [Olivia’s] adventures--if you are like me, you will also probably learn a lot about ancient Rome that you didn’t know before!--Amazon Review

I am devouring this book!! Very, very few novels set in ancient times, even fewer romances, and as for time-travel... basically zip. Wonderful story!--Reader Comment

My favorite is of course A SESTERCE FOR HER THOUGHTS--Reader Comment

Simegen.com’s WELL WORTH READING AWARD For This Romance Trading Card!

Want to try something different? Check out this a new card from The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 5, is JANUS IS A TWO-FACED MOON, the popular science fiction romance.

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about JANUS IS A TWO-FACED MOON:

Her family or her world? Who dies is up to Blade Sinclair, but how can she possibly choose?

Amazon.com and Smashwords.com

Here are some fabulous reviews for JANUS IS A TWO-FACED MOON:

4 ½ Stars! I originally decided to read this book as it dealt with subject matter that is near and dear to my heart – dancing – although after many previous disappointing experiences with this same subject matter I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had found being someone knowledgeable of dancing terminology and techniques made me a bit more critical of many author’s descriptions. I was NOT disappointed with this book, in more ways than one. I must say that Susanne Marie Knight is definitely an author to watch. I greatly enjoyed this book and found it to be a page-turner that kept me on the edge of my seat until the last page. The dancing aside, I found the tale of intrigue and suspense situated in a distant future, grabbed me and held on. The love story was great, and I loved that Chris and Blade had a hard time staying away from each other, even when they both felt it would be best. I got a definite kick out of Blade’s “ah-ha” moment when she is finally able to find a way to win the day, and the eventual way she is able to do so. We get our “Yay!” moment in the end, and that’s a definite must-have for me when it comes to a love story. All in all, a very satisfying ending. So, I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a love story with a bit of intrigue and suspense thrown in to keep it interesting. It was a fun read, and I enjoyed it right up to the end.-- Long and Short Reviews

Well-Worth Reading Award!--Simegen.com

The romance in JANUS IS A TWO-FACED MOON is an interesting, fun story. The love that grows between Blade and Chris is fraught with peril. You can empathize with the characters and their dilemmas, even the non-human ones. The aliens are unique and believable. It was interesting to read about the moon city, Tychotown, and the expectations for a new Olympic Games... if you love futuristic romances for their out-of-this-world love stories, you will enjoy this book. JANUS IS A TWO-FACED MOON is a sequel to JANUS IS A TWO-HEADED GOD, and while a few of the characters carry over from the previous book, it need not have been read to enjoy JANUS IS A TWO-FACED MOON.--Romance Reviews Today

Ms. Knight has developed a very imaginative and creative science fiction romance. It is exciting to watch Chris and Blade being forced to play a game of cat and mouse as they try to keep their sexual desire a secret. The use of many different beings and their cultures adds depth to the storyline. Science fiction lovers will be glad to read this book.--Coffee Time Romance

A new week... a new card from The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 25, is A NOBLE DILEMMA, the popular classic Regency romance.

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about A NOBLE DILEMMA:

Bethany has a guilty secret that if discovered, will scandalize Polite Society and her new love, the Earl of Ingraham. What would Jane Austen do??

Amazon.com and Smashwords.com

Here are some fabulous reviews for A NOBLE DILEMMA:

4 Books! A Noble Dilemma is a tight intriguing novel placed in the regency era.... Subtle surprises, above average characters, and a wonderful eye for detail set A Noble Dilemma apart. Secondary characters are both important and singular. Activities are appropriate and fun to read about; from dinners to carriage ride, dinners to the obligatory trip to London. Fans of this particular type of historical will enjoy this – most especially because it both fits, but somewhat escapes the mold. Truly charming.--Long and Short Reviews

4 Cups! This is a classically crafted Regency Romance with likable characters and an easy to follow plot. ... I enjoyed the gradual building of the feelings between the two [characters]. Bethany is my favorite of a great cast of characters. She is caring without being too sweet, and her problem solving abilities definitely help the plot along.--Coffee Time Romance & More

Susanne Marie Knight's book is very enjoyable read, she does a nice job showing just how limited a woman’s life was in this period of history so far as finding a way to earn an income. This book was fun to read and a great escape from the stress today. It shows just how far women have come in this Western civilization in the years since this novel’s time period. The characters were warm, real and three dimensional. They were people I’d like to have in my own family.--Got Historical Romance Reviews

Fans of light Regency romance will find that A Noble Dilemma's characters are likeable and the sweet romance builds to a traditional happy ending.--Night Owl Reviews

I loved this book. The heroine is so refreshing. She's sweet without being a saintly Mary Sue. You have to love a girl who wants to have it all.--Reader Comment.

I hope you enjoy Bethany and David’ story, and also the digital card, A NOBLE DILEMMA, in my Trading Card series.

A Dream Realm Award Finalist Trading Card!

Ready for an out-of-the-ordinary read? Here is the newest card from The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 18, is COMPETITORS!, the popular Halloween romance short story.

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about COMPETITORS!:

Anthropology enthusiast Vivianne Quinn gets more than she bargained for when she makes a date to “meet” a Neanderthal!

 Amazon.com and Smashwords.com

Here are some fabulous reviews for COMPETITORS!:

“Could Neanderthals still exist? And if so, would they look just like the rest of us? Susanne Marie Knight takes those questions and runs with them in COMPETITORS! and shows us that not everyone is what they appear to be. When readers first meet Vivianne, she is a tormented young woman who constantly wonders why she didn’t also die in the car crash. But as the book progresses, she becomes the strong woman she must have been before the accident. As for Max... Max, Max, Max. What a combination of alpha maleness and intelligence, which this reviewer believes will cause many women to swoon. He’s dominating, yet gentle, and treats Vivianne with great respect. An interesting and fun-filled romance, COMPETITORS! is the perfect read for those looking for something a little different in their love stories.”-- Romance Reviews Today

“Susanne's been chosen as one of the best e-book authors the Internet has to offer for COMPETITORS! ”--Nights and Weekend.com. Susanne Marie Knight certainly has a diverse imagination, and she blends suspense with a haunting question--why did Neanderthals abruptly vanish 30,000 years ago--in COMPETITORS! But what if they’re not extinct? What if they walk among us? This is a plot that can easily sound farfetched in the wrong author’s hands, but Ms. Knight pulled it off, suspending my belief and wrapping me in an enthralling tale. You want an author with unique style? Susanne Marie Knight is your gal.--Nights and Weekends.com

“4.5 Books! “I liked COMPETITORS! I have read other books about Neanderthals and this species never came across as anything other than primitive. The Neos in this book are caring, gentle people who value their ancestors and want what everybody wants in life - to be loved and understood. I enjoyed the growing awareness and romance between Vivianne and Max. Despite their differences and the dramas they are living through, there is a bond between them that neither can deny. It was amusing to think that the Neos consider Vivianne and her people savages. The derogatory term of calling someone a Neanderthal may not be so bad after all. It's always good to see history turned on its head. I also liked the fact that the killer is not known until the end. I thought I knew who it was but I was wrong. The book also got me wondering if there are Neos amongst us. There are weirder things out there. If you enjoy books that are beyond the normal, then I would recommend COMPETITORS! It's a fresh, unique romance that is kind of sweet and overwhelmingly passionate.--Once Upon A Romance

“Author Susanne Marie Knight has done a convincing job of making the exotic Max as hypnotic and flat-out irresistible as he needs to be, to accomplish everything he is called upon to do. Max isn’t only a sex hunk, he is smooth, educated, and well traveled. He can communicate mentally, and his sense of smell gives new definition to the word “intimate.” Knight will have readers knocking on her door asking where they can get their own Neanderthals. In addition to Max, Vivianne has a flock of friends to turn to in her tough times. Vivianne’s identical-twin brothers, her husband-hunting friend Fran, and Max’s cat Eins with his divided loyalties all contribute to the workings of fate – fate being the saving of Vivianne so she can be with Max. Her associates are amusing, even at their most irritating. Max’s friends, on the other hand, are Very Serious People. It isn’t easy for Max to have a personal life when The Mission is All. It keeps the other Neanderthals from having as much dimension as Max does. COMPETITORS! is well thought out. Knight has more than a superficial knowledge about Neanderthals, and she has used it to shape her what-if into a fun, original plot.”-- Reviewers-Choice.com

I hope you enjoy Vivianne and Max’s story, and also the digital card, COMPETITORS! in my Trading Card series.

A Halloween Treat Trading Card!

It’s now October--which means Halloween’s coming! Here is the newest card from The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 45, is “True Love And Candy Corn”, the popular Halloween romance short story.

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about “True Love And Candy Corn”:

Can trick or treating promise true love to a thirteen-year-old girl?

Amazon.com and Smashwords

Here are two fabulous reviews for “True Love And Candy Corn”:

5 Stars! Halloween is all fun and games until a fresh-faced teen gets cursed, or perhaps it's a blessing in disguise. Forevermore isn't what thirteen-year-old Becky had in mind when she dressed up as a witch to head out for trick or treating on All Hallows' Eve, but when she knocks on the door of apartment 319, she ends up with more than a Snickers bar. As she takes the 'treat' from the sorceress and rejoins her friends, magic ensues, and her heart is lost to the delightful Frank Palmer who lives next door. Cut to nine years later, Becky returns to the fateful building with her niece and nephew. As they approach apartment 317, the home of her true love from many years ago, her heart flutters wildly as she wonders if destiny will reunite them. In this cozy, romantic romp, Susanne Knight shows us how a tri-colored confection can be the catalyst for lasting devotion. True Love and Candy Corn will leave you smiling!--Amazon Review.

5 Stars! The moment I finished reading this I had to write this review. Something about the story enthralled me. I am a sucker for happy endings.--Reader Review.

So, if you love candy corn but worry about the sugar, try this zero calorie treat on Halloween night, but be sure to reward your trick-or-treaters... just in case a real “witch” is on the other side of your door! Just joking!

I hope you enjoy Rebecca and Frank’s story, and also the digital card, “True Love And Candy Corn” in my Trading Card series.

An EPPIC Award Finalist Trading Card!

Here is the newest card from The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 15, is THE CONTRARY CONTESSA, the popular classic Regency romance.

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about THE CONTRARY CONTESSA:

Lord Rutherford has no interest in marrying a non-English matron,

but how can he resist his captivating... and contrary stepsister?

 Amazon.com and Smashwords.com.

Here are some fabulous reviews for THE CONTRARY CONTESSA:

5 Hearts! This is an excellent Regency romance. It has a little bit of comedy and tons of romance. The plot has some surprising and very pleasing twists. Robert, who is very proper, and Lexia, who is quite bold, make an interesting pair. I highly recommend this fun, entertaining story.-- The Romance Studio

Top Pick Award! Charming and delightful! THE CONTRARY CONTESSA is well written and what I like to call spicy! Lexia is a beautiful Sicilian spitfire who teaches Robert what it is to love someone and accept them for who they are. Gina, Anthony, and Emma are precious and precocious children who added a lot of fun to this story. I absolutely loved this novel. Lexia is a very strong-willed woman who goes after what she wants, which in this case is Robert. Robert had a lot to learn about happiness and love, and thank goodness he realized that you don’t have to live by society’s rules. The twist at the end was the perfect ending for this novel. I cannot wait to read more from Susanne Knight.-- Romance Readers At Heart

5 Blue Ribbons! THE CONTRARY CONTESSA will steal your heart with its humor and warmth. The impish but delightful children provide plenty of laughs and tender moments as they help Robert and Lexia to realize that nothing can stand in the way of true love. Plus, there is a thrilling twist at the end of the story. Susanne Knight has written a great story, filled with plenty of love, comedy, and desire. Italy and England collide in this warm-hearted, romantic tale of true love, Italian style.--Romance Junkies

THE CONTRARY CONTESSA is a charming little Regency, with a twist. We also get the pleasure of learning a bit of Italian culture with this one. Susanne Marie Knight has done a wonderful job of blending the two cultures with the typical results. The horror of the kitchen staff when a member of the nobility enters the kitchen, and not only enters it, but proceeds to cook and clean up! The characters are believable, from Robert’s dislike of anything not English, to Lexia’s passionate nature. I really loved the character Zia Conchetta, Lexia’s aunt. Taciturn and quiet by nature, she still manages to make her disapproval known. If you enjoy a good Regency as much as I do, you don’t want to miss this one!--PNR Reviews

The love of family and the love of food are very important in Lexia’s world, and I like to say this Regency is sprinkled with Sicilian cooking, giving it a special twist! If you love Regency romance, this book’s for you! I hope you enjoy Lexia and Robert’s story, and also the digital card, THE CONTRARY CONTESSA, in my Trading Card series.
