Collect A New Regency Time-Travel Trading Card--in Portuguese!

It’s a new week, which means a new trading card for The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 67, is A CAIXA MÁGICA--or, in English, THE QUESTING BOX, the classic time-travel Regency romance. Also, THE QUESTING BOX is the only one of my novels available in another language--Portuguese: A CAIXA MÁGICA. Look for Trading Card Number 38 for THE QUESTING BOX!!

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about A CAIXA MÁGICA,THE QUESTING BOX:

Rae Santini plans to go on a quest to heal herself. What she doesn’t know is that she must travel back to the past to do it.

Amazon.com

Print

TAKING A CHANCE--TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY STYLE--

As the adult child of an alcoholic, Rae Santini struggles with unnecessary guilt. If only she was a better person. If only she could have helped her father. If only he hadn’t died. So when a Questing Box comes her way, she longs to turn back the clock to save him. But she had been just eight at the time of his death; she hadn’t been ready to embark upon a healing journey. Eighteen years later, the mysterious box is gifted to her. She figures she has nothing to lose so she opens the box...

TAKING A CHANCE--NINETEENTH CENTURY STYLE--

James Bonnell, the Earl of Blackburne, dreads returning to his family’s estate for Christmas. His parents, the Marquess and Marchioness of Litchfield, not only belittle his political career, but most urgently insist that he marry to beget an heir. As it turns out, he had intended to bring home a bride, however the “lady” in question is too free with her favors. Disheartened, James is on his way to Litchfield when he encounters an unconscious Rae. He quickly bundles her up and takes her to a nearby Gypsy encampment. A risky idea then comes to mind. Perhaps this attractive wood nymph will consent to a masquerade and act as his countess... just for the holidays?

Romance de viagem no tempo

A CAIXA MÁGICA: Romance de viagem no tempo--Versão em Português! Rae Santini planeja encontrar uma maneira de se curar. O que ela não sabe é que ela deve viajar de volta ao passado para faze-lo.

Billionaires Love Trading Cards, Too!

Here is the newest card from The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 74, is NEVER TRUST A BILLIONAIRE, the new contemporary billionaire romance.

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about NEVER TRUST A BILLIONAIRE:

 Can working girl Claressa Lauriano outwit a not-to-be-trusted billionaire who is determined to have his way with her?

 Amazon.com and Smashwords.com

In print at Amazon.com.

BEWARE OF BILLIONAIRES BRINGING ROSES

Billionaire Elliot Beaumont has a laissez faire attitude concerning women... or in other words, he takes them and leaves them. After casually giving one of his American Rose homegrown blooms to his company’s newest employee, Claressa Lauriano, he then learns his father, the CEO, wants him to pursue her to obtain her family’s small vineyard. Elliot assumes she’ll be flattered by his advances, only to learn that she has a laissez faire policy as well; she wants him to leave her alone. She doesn’t trust him... and rightfully so. The only way he can think of to get his hands on the grapes is to arrange to be fake engaged to Claressa. However, the longer she is his faux fiancée, the more he wants the engagement to be real. Can he convince his prickly American Rose to take a chance on a billionaire?

BEWARE OF WORKING GIRLS GROWING GRAPES

Claressa Lauriano has been working at her new job for only a month, but she also tends to her family vineyard on the side. When she shares a sample of grapes with her office, she comes to the CEO’s attention... which then means she comes to the company’s Chief Biotechnology Officer’s attention--playboy, billionaire Elliot Beaumont. Oddly enough, Elliot suddenly bulldozes his way into her life by becoming fake engaged to her. She doesn’t trust him or his motives, and why should she? Billionaires and working girls come from two different worlds. Why is he so insistent that she is meant to be his?

Here are some wonderful reviews of NEVER TRUST A BILLIONAIRE:

Trust me... this contemporary billionaire romance is 5 stars! In the battle of “Working Girl Vs. Billionaire” who is going to be the winner? Claressa takes care of her grandfather and her younger sister. Quite frankly, she minds her own business. Suddenly, she comes to the attention of the higher ups at Beaumont Industries where she works, and neither her nor Elliot Beaumont’s life will be the same again. I laughed out loud at the scene where Claressa slaps Elliot--much to his surprise. No one ever told this billionaire “no” before. A very satisfying read!--Just Imagine Fanzine

Beware of billionaires offering a single red rose! Claressa unsuspectingly accepts the flower, and ends up fake engaged to billionaire Elliot Beaumont. As she struggles to end this pretend arrangement, Elliot becomes more and more enamored of her. He wants the engagement to be real. Will he win Claressa over? I love how this down-to-earth gal unwittingly lassos in the uber-rich Elliot. That guy never had a chance! Enjoy!--S.G. Reviews

I hope you enjoy! NEVER TRUST A BILLIONAIRE is the seventy-fourth card in my digital card series.

A Spooky, Down-To-Earth Trading Card!

Love ghostly romance stories? Here is the newest card from The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.

This week’s book, number 70, is MY FAVORITE GHOST, the fun, frothy contemporary romance with a paranormal twist.

At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.

Here’s a blurb about MY FAVORITE GHOST:

Is it possible to make love to a ghost?

Amazon.com and Smashwords.com.

In print at Amazon.com.

HIS DREAM COME TRUE

Billionaire Timothy Bolland Carter is having a very interesting day... and night. First he finds out that he has a previously unknown great grandmother, Emaline, who is not only turning one hundred years old, but who also practices Appalachian Granny Magic. Then, he receives a wake-up call--literally. A very friendly... and passionate ghost visits his bed in the dark of the night. He doesn’t know the woman and she doesn’t let herself be seen. When morning arrives, not only is she gone but there’s absolutely no way she could have entered or departed from his penthouse apartment. She says she’s a ghost, but is she really? How can Carter find her again?

HER WORST NIGHTMARE

Doctor Gabrielle (Gabby) Rossi has her life on track. So what if she’s twenty-nine, single, with no special man on the horizon? When billionaire Timothy Bolland Carter arrives at her medical office to handle a cyber attack, she ignores him as if he had the plague. This man was responsible for “knocking up” and abandoning her best friend. But even though she gives him the cold shoulder, she can’t help but fantasize about indulging in some late night aerobics... in the privacy of her mind, of course. A couple of intense dreams later, and then... Wait a minute! How did she get pregnant?

Here are some wonderful reviews of MY FAVORITE GHOST’:

5 Stars!! A great way to start the New Year! Carter is a billionaire with a problem in bed. No, it doesn’t have to do with women... then again, maybe it does. After he visits with his long-lost great grandmother--who tells him she practices Appalachian Granny Magic--his sleep problems get worse... or better, depending on how you look at it. Carter is a wonderfully appealing character who treats everyone with respect. He is interested in his nighttime ghost, but also feels a connection with a Doctor Gabby, who won’t give him the time of day. Getting these two together was fun to read. Their delightful banter made me keep turning the pages. I had no idea how this unusual situation would resolve itself. Ms. Knight delivers once again!--Just Imagine Fanzine

5 Stars! Romantic and Sexy! My Favorite Ghost is a mix of contemporary romance and paranormal romance, showing that there are more mysteries in the universe than meets the eye. And when the desire is strong enough, even the impossible can happen. I recommend it!! S. A. Santos Reviews

I hope you enjoy! MY FAVORITE GHOST is the seventieth card in my digital card series.

The Scoop on Writing: NEVER TRUST A BILLIONAIRE

Okay, so maybe I was in a nostalgic mood. I felt drawn to write a contemporary romance but where would I set it? Who would be my characters? How would I twist and turn them so that they would fall in love?

The answers to these questions hearken back to the past: my past--my great uncle’s house on Staten Island. I’d already written a short story using this house as a backdrop (“Grand-mère’s Sainte Bleu”) but now the house itself is almost a character. The tiny vineyard in the back of the house certainly is! Here is what I came up with:

Can working girl Claressa Lauriano outwit a not-to-be-trusted billionaire who is determined to have his way with her?

 Amazon.com and Smashwords.com

In print at Amazon.com

NEVER TRUST A BILLIONAIRE is available at Amazon.com and Smashwords.com, in addition to other internet locations.

Here are some wonderful reviews:

Trust me... this contemporary billionaire romance is 5 stars! I laughed at loud at the scene where Claressa slaps Elliot--much to his surprise.

Reviews

I’m loving your new billionaire romance!--Reader Comment

This book is part of the Romantic Contemporaries line.

Real life tidbit: So, as I mentioned, this Staten Island house is real. On Hope Avenue, with two lions guarding the front entrance, with a vineyard in the back, with an oil painting of an older relative who seems to follow you with his eyes no matter where you walk in the front room. In the excerpt below, it is our billionaire, Elliot Beaumont, who comes across this intriguing portrait and, quite frankly, he gets a little spooked by it!

Sitting in a curved back chair to the right of the door, Elliot had an excellent view out the large bay window and also of the stone fireplace. Hanging over the mantle was an oil painting of a stern older man. Not as old as Federico, but most likely a relation. Perhaps his father, Claressa’s great grandfather.

The man’s dark eyes were the most striking feature. Wherever Elliot walked in the room, the man’s portrait gaze seemed to follow him. A rather whimsical thought, but truthfully, a bit creepy.

As he had noticed, this front room or parlor, wasn’t used much. Perhaps it was a shrine.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 One more thing: at one time I did take the MTA bus over the Verrazzo Narrows Bridge to my job in lower Manhattan. Those were the days!
I hope you enjoy Claressa and Elliot’s story!
Several Awards For This Science Fiction Romance Trading Card!
Want to try something out-of-this-world? Check out this a new card from The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.
This week’s book, number 4, is JANUS IS A TWO-HEADED GOD, the award-winning science fiction romance.
 At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.
Here’s a blurb about JANUS IS A TWO-HEADED GOD:
What happens when the Human leader at Milky Way’s core must deal with a headstrong female from the despised planet Earth?
 Amazon.com and Smashwords.com
Print: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0915GWSJG
 Here are some fabulous reviews for JANUS IS A TWO-HEADED GOD:
4 Stars! This book is so richly detailed and multi-layered I could almost believe that Xaspaar is in the universe. There are aliens, genetically altered humans, and, of course, the Earthlings who migrated hundreds of years before, who only remember Earth with disdain. This one is not to be missed.--Romantic Times Magazine
Sound interesting so far? I've only scratched the surface of this intricate and nicely detailed science fiction romance. There is also heavy political intrigue, which gives the reader a nice glimpse into the other species (fourteen) that form part of the [Galactic Core Coalition]. There are highly entertaining villains (of all shapes and sexes) that add suspense and thrills. Mention of the 'Ancients' is also fascinating, and I haven't even mentioned what the title is all about. That should be about enough to whet your appetite, but if it isn't, keep in mind that JANUS IS A TWO-HEADED GOD is extremely well written, with good character development and excellent attention to detail, the latter most important in any science fiction novel, in my opinion. The book moves smoothly and it takes very little time before the reader becomes engrossed in the world of space travel and wormholes, unicopters and Uortzks. What are wormholes, you say? Don't wait any longer, get your copy of JANUS right away and find out for yourself!--Romance Reviews Today.
5 Stars! A Phenomenal Science Fiction Read! Science-fiction romance doesn't get any better than this. JANUS IS A TWO-HEADED GOD has a superb opening that hooks you right in from the beginning and takes you on a fantastic voyage to an exciting new world with great characters and aliens. I had to stay up into the night to finish; it was just phenomenal, and I didn't want it to end! JANUS is just the kind of book I love to read and I hope there'll be a sequel.--Amazon Reviewer.
JANUS IS A TWO-HEADED GOD is a fast-paced futuristic romance that confronts questions of culture, destiny and ultimately, the nature of love itself. Knight's characters are complex and very human, but still heroic. The story has a bunch of loveable secondary characters to round it out but the meat of the romance itself is the cultural differences between JorVaal and Sam. Though both are from fully human stock, JorVaal's upbringing in a different world leads to more than a few conflicts over any future that they may have together. It is an excellent example of science fiction romance written properly -- using the cultures and possibilities of the future to full advantage. Paranormal fans may latch onto the prophecy aspect of the story which, though, minor, was still interesting. Destiny is always a fun concept in a romance novel, and though it is at times subtle it is interesting enough to leave one with the hope that we will learn more about the Ancients in the future! JANUS is a delightful novel with enough thrills and warm moments for any reader, but those who enjoy their romance with a twist of otherworldly allure will enjoy it most of all.--ParaNormal Romance Reviews.
4 Stars! Some of the best science fiction stories explore the nature of humanity. Some of the best romances feature a couple learning to compromise. Sometimes, if we're really lucky, a book like this comes along which combines both.... Choosing to read a science fiction romance can be a risky proposition -- few authors can blend the science and the passion to produce a book that is well-rounded in both genres. I'm happy to say that Ms. Knight has indeed accomplished this feat -- the world of Xaspaar may be alien, but the emotions of the lovers are basically as human as they can be. Perhaps that is part of the charm of this tale -- to think that even after experiencing the wonders that the galaxy has to offer, it still all boils down to love!!--A Romance Review.
4 Stars! Science Fiction is provocative and expands the mind to think of the now. Susanne Marie Knight has done that with 'Janus Is A Two-Headed God'. Her premise is interesting: her characters are full of surprises. The tale itself is full of twists and turns. Plot and subplot add layers of interest. Her worlds are believable and well-thought out. Her diverse cultural mores make for realism. Such an enjoyable read deserves many kudos and mine is the belief that this is a keeper.--Sime-gen Reviews.
This is a very well done science-fiction romance book. The characters are fun and detailed, the sparks between the main characters entertaining. There is enough Sci-fi technotalk to carry the feel of the future, while the story remains on the people, just as it should be in a book like this.--PNR Reviews
It is great to have a romantic subplot to a fine science fiction plot... the book was well written and the author had some nice descriptions.--D. Winkle Reviews
I started JANUS IS A TWO-HEADED GOD at my son's football practice, and I got so grossed, I couldn't stop reading. The game was over before I was ready to leave!--Reader Review
JANUS IS A TWO-HEADED GOD had an exciting new world. What a story!-- Reader Review
JANUS is wonderful! I didn't know what to expect and... wow! Couldn't go to bed until I finished it. Great book!-- Reader Review
I thought [JANUS] was just phenomenal! Thanks for writing such a fantastic book!--Reader Review
A Contemporary Romance With A Metaphysical Twist Trading Card!!
Are you ready for an unusual coupling of two feisty characters? Yes? Then it’s time for another new trading card for The Book Nook, my own category of collectible cards for my Romance Writing With A Twist Books.
This week’s book, number 42, is THE TWO OF CUPS IS FOR LOVERS, pits a successful football quarterback with a successful Tarot reader.
At the end of the Blog you’ll find the digital card that you can click on and save to your device.
Here’s a blurb about THE TWO OF CUPS IS FOR LOVERS:
Polar opposites--Drew Gavin, high-profile star quarterback, and Isabeau Delaney, low-key Tarot advisor, go head to head when the Tarot card of lovers and soul mates keeps reappearing in their readings.
Amazon.com and Smashwords.com
 Print book at Amazon.com
NOT GONNA HAPPEN
Fame. Money. Booze. Women. It’s just another ho-hum day in the life of retired NFL star quarterback, Drew “The Cowboy” Gavin. But Drew’s one love is his young child, Elena. For months she’s refused to talk, and he’s in desperate need of help. He’s exhausted every avenue in conventional medicine; now he’s considering something different. Something unconventional, alternative. His manager sets him up with... what? A Tarot advisor? Not gonna happen! Can Drew put aside his prejudice against metaphysical matters and give his earth angel, Madame Laney, a chance?
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN
Isabeau Delaney, a.k.a. Madame Laney, has big expenses and responsibilities. A beautiful house, a beloved grandmother in a nursing home, and a slew of Tarot clients that depend of her to help them navigate the shoals of life. She has no time for a chauvinistic skeptic who turns his nose up at her life’s work. Drew Gavin just isn’t in the cards... Tarot or otherwise. Not going to happen! But if that’s the case, why does the persistent Two of Cups--the card for lovers and soul mates--keep reappearing in the readings she conducts for Drew?
Here are some fabulous reviews:
5 STARS! THE TWO OF CUPS IS FOR LOVERS written by talented author Susanne Marie Knight is a fun contemporary romance with touches of the paranormal. This story is a delightful change from many of the paranormal romances out there. The heroine is a dedicated tarot reader; the hero is a macho football quarterback. Their interactions are explosive! I recommend this story to anyone who enjoys romance that’s not quite in the common way!--Twists On Romance Reviews
Perfect, perfect, perfect! I love how the Tarot cards are mixed into the story. Lovely!--Reader Comment
