Secondary characters are both important and singular. Activities are appropriate and fun to read about; from dinners to carriage ride, dinners to the obligatory trip to London. Fans of this particular type of historical will enjoy this – most especially because it both fits, but somewhat escapes the mold. Truly charming.

A big hello and thank you to Tami and You Gotta Read aficionados! I’m Susanne Marie Knight, and I’m your blog hostess for today, April 6. First, a bit about me: 2009 is my tenth year anniversary of being published. My motto is Romance Writing with a Twist, and to date I have 22 books published/under contract, with 2 more in the publishing queue.

Since I write in quite a few different genres, I thought I’d talk about my latest books in some of those genres along with what’s coming up.

My latest Regency published is Paging Miss Galloway, winner of the Awe-Struck Regency Award. A lady disguised as a man is a popular Regency theme with readers, so I thought I’d try my hand at it. I really enjoyed the challenges of making Danny/Danielle act as Lord Trelaine’s page!

Welcome 2009!!!

Yea!!! 2009 is finally here! I'm still snow-bound, though. Over five feet of the darling white stuff. Here's an updated picture of the view from my office. More snow equals more fun, right?

Living in London

Greetings! As the summer slowly comes to a close, my Living in the Romance Writing with a Twist World has me living in London for my new WIP. Living in London vicariously, of course. Oh, to really visit! But then again, the date is October 1816, where things are very much different than today...

Or are they? According to the male protagonist, in 1816 an important issue being debated concerns the rights of the individual versus the rights of the state. Hmmm!

But enough politics! (Also a sentiment of A Noble Dilemma's hero.) Currently, he finds himself strolling along the Birdcage Walk bordering St. James's Park to the south. Sounds like a delightful place with a few rare Chinese trees, the Evodia Hupehenisis,

and many exotic birds--the pelican, for one.

While surfing the net, I came across an interesting story from two years ago about a pelican (a strict fish eater) sauntering over to a flock of pigeons in St. James's Park. It then grabbed one and held the pigeon captive in its beak. Twenty minutes later, the pigeon took an involuntary trip down the pelican's throat! Yikes. I guess the pelican forgot it was only supposed to eat fish. :))
