Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. As 2010 is almost here, I wish you all a happy and healthy New Year. There is much to be thankful for, in the Romance Writing with a Twist World.

I'm ringing in the New Year with an award for my futuristic/science fiction romance, ForEvver. ForEvver's been awarded the 2010 Dirk A. Wolf Cover Art Honorable Mention in the Science Fiction/ Futuristic Category. Niki Browning is the talented artist. The Medallion will be awarded at EPIC's Annual Conference Awards Banquet on March 7, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana!

You've followed ForEvver's progress here on the blog, and now Flavia Gracchus and Jason Maverick's story has garnered some excellent reviews, as well as reader comments!

4.5 Books! ForEvver had a mixture of intrigue, adventure and romance. It was a very entertaining book and a pleasant read. The threads of the book intertwined perfectly... I enjoyed reading this book and originally picked it because I was intrigued by the title... The title fit the book perfectly. A nice play on words. Start the New Year off right with this intriguing, original tale!

In the year 2102, ambitious Jason Maverick is lead attorney for the richest man in the solar system, Reid Evver. Although Reid is only ten years older than Jason, he has everything Jason has ever desired. Except for now. Now Reid wants to acquire a wife. And not just any wife; Flavia Gracchus is a drab Moon native who doesn’t want to visit Earth almost as much as Jason doesn’t want to escort her around to see the sights. But Flavia is Jason’s new assignment. He has no choice but to follow Reid’s dictates and try to convince her that marriage to Reid would be a dream come true.

The more Jason is in Flavia’s company, the more he is convinced that if she marries Reid, it would not be a dream but a nightmare. There’s something strange about Reid’s assistant, Victoria Talbot, and Rosealine Broussard, the old woman who insists she is Reid’s wife. Then there’s the peculiar abduction attempts on Flavia, plotted by Reid’s nemesis, Enrico ViDucchi. And there is Reid Evver himself. Is he really as young as he says?

Amidst the exotic locales of Greater Paris, Maui, and New Tri-Metropolis, Jason discovers true love with his Moon Miss. Now he must convince her that his womanizing ways are over and that she is the only girl for him. He also must make sure time runs out for Reid Evver and his murderous schemes.

Ho, Ho, Ho!

It's a holly, jolly Christmas... to use some lyrics from a holiday song, and I hope you are enjoying the festivities. Where in the Romance Writing with a Twist World is...?

... is Susanne Marie Knight right now? Would you believe, Hilo, Hawaii? Yep, I'm nice and toasty warm on the Big Island, writing about Akaka Falls and Onomea Bay and dolphins!

Let me tell you, I am SO enjoying this fine weather! In reality, it's about twenty degrees in the frozen North, so I think you can forgive me for dwelling in the land of the tropical sun!!

BUT, and this is a big BUT, soon my contemporary romance tale will take me into colder weather. Not as cold as my own particular reality, but to Virginia, where the temps are far milder, but still cold to Hawaiian toes. What's my contemporary romance about, you ask? Well, here's the title: One Wife Too Many.

New, new, new! I *just* finished a contemporary romance short story with a paranormal twist. I also *just* signed a contract! Look for "Family Secrets" in March 2010 at Uncial Press.

Sometimes secrets can reveal your true love.

Talia Fanetti longs for true love. She’s just gotten engaged to eligible bachelor Edmund Bartholomew, so she’s all set in the love department.

Or is she?

On a romantic getaway in the country, she learns her future in-laws live in a house awash with secrets. Talia soon makes a startling discovery: she has a secret as well. When Grandmother Bartholomew offers Talia a chance to find out who her true love is, will Talia have the courage to use the magic spell?

For this short story, I "visited" upstate New York, in the Hudson River Valley area. Beautiful country. I really enjoyed my visit! :))
